Why Restrictions Exist
Perena operates as a regulated financial technology platform. Geographic restrictions exist because different countries have different rules for digital assets and financial services, international sanctions programs prohibit certain cross-border transactions, and obtaining proper licensing takes time and varies by jurisdiction.
We take compliance seriously because it protects both our users and the long-term viability of our platform. Operating in restricted regionsโeven if technically possibleโwould put user funds and our entire platform at risk.
How Location Detection Works
When you attempt to connect your wallet, we check your IP address to determine your current physical location.
What we check: Your IP address geolocation at the time you connect your wallet.
What we don't check: Your citizenship, passport country, or account registration location.
Your funds remain safe
Deposits continue earning yield regardless of your location. Your assets are secured by smart contracts, not by your ability to access the interface.
Access is temporarily restricted
While in a restricted region, you cannot access the Perena interface, make new deposits or withdrawals, or modify your positions.
Full access resumes automatically
When you return to a supported region, your access is restored immediately. No action needed.

How does Perena detect my location?
We use your IP address to determine your geographic location. This check happens when you attempt to connect your wallet to our platform.
I'm a citizen of a restricted country but currently in a supported region. Can I use Perena?
Yes. Our restrictions are based on your current physical location (determined by IP), not your citizenship or nationality. If you're physically present in a supported region, you can access Perena. However, you should ensure you're compliant with your home country's laws regarding cryptocurrency usage.
Will my funds be safe if I deposit and then travel to a restricted region?
Your deposited funds remain safe and continue earning yield regardless of your location. However, you won't be able to access the platform interface or make new transactions while in a restricted region. Once you return to a supported region, full access is restored.
When will Perena be available in [my country]?
We're actively working on expanding to new regions as regulations allow.
I was able to access Perena before, but now I'm blocked. What happened?
Regulations change, and we must adapt accordingly. If a region becomes restricted after you've used Perena, your funds remain safe but you won't be able to access the interface until either you have a supported region IP or regulations change.
